Since then, the program has grown significantly, with hundreds of QCP-licensed woodworking firms and thousands of projects certified annually.

The QCP is inextricably linked to the AWI Standards of Architectural Woodwork, which are developed and continuously updated by AWI following the rigorous requirements of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). These standards go far beyond simple rules; they provide in-depth guidance on every aspect of architectural woodwork, including how materials are chosen, how things are built, how they’re finished, and how they’re installed. They establish three aesthetic grades – Economy, Custom, and Premium – and various performance duty levels for products like casework, ensuring clarity and consistency across projects.
